I forgot to blog today. Okay, let’s be literal – I almost forgot to blog today. Why? I don’t want to go into that. Nope. Maybe some day.
So instead, I’m scrambling to figure out what to talk about. I apologize in advance for my poor planning.
Let’s see… it looks like it’s getting ready to storm outside. That doesn’t strike fear into my heart here in Kentucky the way it did when we lived in Indiana, especially the last year or so after the horrible tornadoes went through. That episode pretty well did me in for liking strong storms. If we still lived there, I’d need the human equivalent of a thunder shirt to get through the summer. Not even kidding in the least. Pitting a southern Kentucky thunderstorm against an Indiana thunderstorm is like comparing a gentle breeze to a cyclone. I prefer the gentle breeze. 😉
That isn’t to say we don’t have bad storms here – we do. Don’t ask me about the time a year ago when a storm hit around 6 a.m. and the resulting crash of thunder was so loud, I literally woke up thinking a plane had crashed, was left holding on to the side of the bed shaking, and didn’t stop for thirty minutes. I made my poor hubby get up and look all around the house for fire and smoke on the distant horizon.
In my defense, I was sound asleep when it hit, it went on and on forever, and then nothing. Like, that storm expended its entire energy reserves on one big-butt thunderclap. So when he was trying to calm me down by saying “it’s just a storm,” I’m countering with “yeah? Where’s the rest of it then!?”
Yeah, it was funny. Not at the time, though.
In other news, I keep hearing people picking on Ancient Aliens. Now come on, people. Just because it’s sensationalized and populated with unconventional guests, that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth watching. I happen to love the show. It makes me think, stirs the creative juices. It’s entertaining, I don’t believe everything I see on the show, and every now and then I learn things. What more can a person ask for?
That said, we don’t get the History channel anymore. We cut the cord a couple of years ago, so I have to get my Ancient Aliens fix on Netflix or Amazon. It is one of the shows I don’t mind paying for. Now, if we can just get them to bring back America Unearthed… 😉
